Anthony Dimitroulakos
January 26, 1933- November 6, 2016
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anthony born in the village of Mavrovouni Greece. He passed away peacefully with his devoted family by his side and in their prayers. Beloved and cherished husband of 54 years to Eugenia, the love of his life. Proud and doting father of Panayiota (Steve), Jim (Donna) & Zafiroula (Darrin). Loving Pappou to Virginia, Vasili, Anthony, Phillip & Jenna. Loving brother-in-law to Pitsa (Vasili predeceased). Adored youngest of nine siblings (predeceased), in-laws, and loving uncle to his many nephews, nieces in Toronto, United States & Greece.
Anthony was a good provider for his family working in an auto body shop and then had his own janitorial business until he fully retired in 2008. He did everything possible so his family had everything they needed to live a wonderful life. Anthony was an avid gardener and was famous for his delicious tomatoes. He was a great soccer player and loved swimming, fishing, playing cards and having coffee with friends at the Caffeneio. He enjoyed traveling throughout the years to Greece and New York visiting his family and friends who he loved so very much.
There is nothing he would not have done or any important event he ever missed for his wife, children, family and friends. His greatest loves were his doting wife and loving children and he was the best husband and father anyone could ever ask for or hope to have. He loved his role as a grandfather and cherished spending time with his grandchildren. No words can describe how much he was loved and how much he will be missed. We take comfort in knowing we are better people for having him in our lives and count our blessings to know such a wonderful, caring man and be part of his life and legacy.
Please join us to honour Anthony’s life:
Visitation: Wednesday November 9th from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at Highland Funeral Home, Markham Chapel, 10 Cachet Woods Court, Markham
Funeral: Thursday November 10th at 11:00 a.m. Saint Panteleimon Greek Orthodox Church Markham, 11359 Warden Avenue, Markham.
Internment: Thursday November 10th following church service
Elgin Mills Cemetery, 1591 Elgin Mills Rd East, Richmond Hill (approximate 10 minute drive from church)
Mercy Meal: Thursday November 10th approximately 1:00 p.m.
Saint Panteleimon Greek Orthodox Church Markham, 11359 Warden Avenue, Markham.
