Doris Josephine Barnett

The time has come to bid a fond farewell to our beloved Doe, wife, mother and Nana to us all. Doris J. Barnett was the youngest and last surviving daughter of the Curry family. “Doe” was one of 7 siblings born and raised in Napanee, Ont. It was in Napanee that “Doe” met a lanky Air Force officer named “Freddy” Barnett. They would spend the next 68 years in wedded bliss! Their love affair ended with the passing of Fred in 2012. Doris is survived by Brian & Bev, Mark & Karen (deceased) Barnett. Adored Nana to Brooks & Brendan. Doe put her family first but a close second were her friends and neighbors along with countless customers at the CIBC branch at Parkwood’s. Doe thoroughly enjoyed Bridge with the Gals and her involvement at the Church of our Savior. To the best Mom (Maw) ever, it is impossible to put into words the tremendous love and devotion we have shared through each and every year of your life! You’re never ending guidance and support has truly shaped the lives of your two sons, daughters in law, and grandson’s. Arrangements in care of Highland Funeral Home, Markham Chapel (905) 887-8600. Visitation will be held at the Church of our Savior, 1 Laurentide Drive, Toronto on Monday, February 8, 2016 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Service in the church to follow. Memorial donations made to the Alzheimer’s Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
